SUMMARY:Fall Embassy Trip - POSTPONED
DESCRIPTION:A message from FPACP President Patti Grady Regarding the Embassy Trip\n\n\n\nDear FPA Members and Friends\, \n\n\n\nI’m writing to share some disappointing news regarding our upcoming Embassy Trip. \n\n\n\nLast week\, we discovered an unexpected problem with our FPA post office box. I want to thank Julie Duke\, who noticed that the mailbox had been empty despite several checks and followed up with the post office. We learned that USPS had discontinued our post office box in mid-September because they had not received our payment. As a result\, all mail sent to the box was returned to the senders. \n\n\n\nIronically\, our payment had been mailed in early August\, but unfortunately\, it appears to have been lost in the mail. The good news is that the situation has now been resolved and our post office box is once again active. \n\n\n\nUnfortunately\, the timing of this issue has created a real challenge for our Embassy Trip. At this point\, we have only 14 online registrations\, and because so much of our correspondence was being sent by mail\, we have no way of knowing how many additional registrations may have been returned to the senders. \n\n\n\nWe need a minimum of 61 participants for the trip to break even. After much consideration\, and with great disappointment\, the Board has made the difficult decision to postpone the Embassy Trip until April 2027. \n\n\n\nThis was not an easy decision. We know that many of you were looking forward to this special opportunity\, and we were very excited about sharing the experience with you. We sincerely hope that postponing the trip will give us the opportunity to regroup\, reach more of our members and friends\, and make the April 2027 trip the successful event we had envisioned. \n\n\n\nFor those who registered and paid online\, a full refund will be processed to the credit card used for payment. If you mailed a check and we received it\, we will return it to you. \n\n\n\nI am truly sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment this may cause. Thank you for your patience\, understanding\, and\, most of all\, for your continued support of the Foreign Policy Association of Central Pennsylvania. Your support means a great deal to all of us\, and we look forward to traveling together in April. \n\n\n\nWith sincere appreciation\, \n\n\n\nPatti GradyPresidentForeign Policy Association of Central Pennsylvania
