Our first post-COVID embassy trip was a huge success as 81 members and guests boarded two buses to Washington DC to visit the Ukrainian and German embassies and to enjoy lunch at the Old Europe Restaurant.
At the Ukraine embassy, our host Kateryna Smagliy and Minister Counselor Yaroslav Brisiuck gave us a very informative and heart-felt presentation on the history of Ukraine, the Russian invasion, and the resilience and resolve of the Ukrainian people.
We filled the Old Europe restaurant to the max and had a German buffet that was to remember.
At the German embassy, Air Attache Colonel Alexander Brand spoke on Ukraine, Russia, and NATO and Political Advisor Mr. Sebastian Heindel-Geiser talked to us on German Perspectives on China.
Our sincere thanks to Dick Lee (Embassies), Tom Fosnacht (Old Europe Restaurant), Dan Sim (Buses) and Stuart Snyder (Registration) for organizing this trip. It will be hard to beat, but we look forward to trying!
